How to become a Member
You can enjoy becoming a member of the SBPT by completing an application form, which you can down load by clicking at the foot of this page,
Three, and sometimes more, times a year, members have the chance to visit historic buildings that are not generally open to the public. These buildings are normally in Somerset but, sometimes, we "venture" into neighbouring counties. After our tours everyone indulges themselves in a delicious tea - this is the spoiling ourselves bit! The visits take place in late Spring, the Summer and in the late Autumn. The latter coincides with the Trust's Annual General Meeting, to which all members are welcome. On that occasion we forego tea for a good buffet lunch. Normally a small charge is made to cover entrance fees, food etc.

The Merchant's House, Shepton Mallet
As you will see from our Home Page last year we visited a glorious Georgian House: a William Stansell/SBPT Building Award winning house in Shepton Mallet - a Merchant's House restored by and now lived in by John Maine and his wife: and Bampfylde Hall at Hestercombe Gardens for our AGM when we visited the Mill and Barn in the grounds currently being restored and will be opened in April of this year.

Mill and Barn at Hestercombe Gardens near Taunton - soon open to the public along with the beautiful grounds and gardens.
